Wedding Vendors Working Together at the Reception

One of the ways to insure a smooth flowing reception is to make sure that all your Omaha Wedding Vendors (photographer, caterer, DJ, Facility etc) are on the same page when the night of your reception comes.
You should know that each of your vendors has an agenda that may or may not be different from the other vendors.

For instance, let us create the scene. Dinner is to be served at seven o'clock. The caterers have the food out at ten till seven. Meanwhile the bride and groom still have not shown up yet. They have the limo till 7:30 and have decided to cruise around for a while. Meanwhile your DJ is waiting for you to get you lined up for the grand entrance. The photographer is waiting for you as well because there are a couple of outdoor shots of the family he still needs to take before the sun sets. The videographer is waiting to get the shots of you arriving to the reception.

By the time the Bride and Groom arrive the caterers are getting restless because the food might be getting cold. The DJ lines up the Bride, Groom, and their Wedding Party for the grand entrance. This takes a few minutes and while getting lined up the photographer reminds the Bride and Groom that he/she needs to pull them aside for a couple more family shots. Caterers are still waiting and wonder why the DJ is at the entrance talking with the Wedding Party. Meanwhile, you are introduced and the photographer snags you right away to get you outside for a couple of shots. Caterers are still waiting and are now getting frustrated at the DJ and photographer.
The point is that there needs to be some form of an agenda that all of your Omaha Wedding Vendors are made aware of.

Where To Start?
It all starts with the Reception facility and with the time the reception begins. Omahabrides.com advice to you is to talk to your Omaha Reception Location and get a rundown on their rules and agenda for you. Most Sites are very flexible and will let you do whatever you want. The key is to decide on when dinner will be served and then try to stay as close to that time as possible. The reason for this is because the food will not wait. By not hitting the scheduled time of the food you will risk having cold food and an unorganized dinner. All other items (Cake, announcements, photos, video interviews etc.) can be worked around and most of these vendors will be flexible with you.

How to Plan
Start by working on a tentative time frame for everything. Of course setting times is just that, tentative. The only thing that should not be tentative as mentioned above is when dinner is to be served. Everything from there is flexible. If dinner is to be served at seven make sure you are there twenty minutes before. This will allow time to be announced, greet a few guests, and get settled in.

Now that We've Gotten Dinner Down Now What?
Now you can decide what it is you want to do and let your Omaha Wedding Vendors work around that. The key is to let them know the agenda so that they can prepare and be aware of what is going to be happening.
For instance, once you have worked out the order of events with your DJ you should make sure the photographer is aware of this order and what your expectations are prior to the reception.

Are Omaha Wedding Vendors Flexible?
You will notice that almost all of the Omaha Wedding Vendors will be very flexible the day of your wedding. The only problem arises when it comes to the amount of time you have your Omaha Wedding Vendor reserved for. For instance, some photographers will only cover a certain amount of hours at your reception which means that you will want to get all the important events done right away. If this is the case, your DJ or Host needs to know this in advance to insure that your reception events happen in a timely fashion that suits the time frame of the photographer.

Communicate, Accommodate, and Coordinate

And by this we mean to let your vendors know your plan, work around your vendors needs, wishes, limitations and ideas, and make sure all the vendors are on the same page.
