Scrapbook Presentations at your Wedding
One of the most popular trends we have seen in the wedding industry over the last several years are the video presentations that are being shown during receptions.
What is a Video Scrapbook?
In case you have never seen one, a video scrapbook is a photomontage of the Bride and Groom from the time they were babies all the way up until they decided to get married.
It's a love story about two people who have come together. Typically the video has three segments. First, it starts with a montage of the Bride growing up and second, it goes into
pictures of the groom growing up and third, it goes into photos of the couple during the courting stages that led up to the wedding.
You can now for a reasonable cost hire someone not only to spend the time putting a video scrapbook together for you but to project it onto a big screen for your guests during the reception. This saves the brides and grooms an enormous amount of time.
There are many Wedding companies who will provide this entire service for you. Don't ever hesitate to ask your DJ, photographer, or videographer if they offer this service. It is definitely worth looking into if you want to add that something extra to your next event.
OmahaBrides.com had an opportunity to talk with Amy Cornic of www.omahascrapbook.com for a brief Q&A session about the scrapbook trend.
OmahaBrides.com: Why do you think showing video scrapbooks at weddings has become so popular?
Amy: I think it’s for two reasons. First it definitely adds an extra touch to the event. Second, over the years as technology has improved it has become easier to produce quality
presentations inexpensively. In addition, the equipment needed to show a presentation is easily obtained.
OmahaBrides.com: What do you mean by the equipment needed is easily obtained?
Amy: Well, once your scrapbook is completed all you need to show it is either a laptop or DVD player, which most people already own. That hooks into the projector and then
displayed on a blank wall or screen. Some people already own a projector and if they don’t, they can rent projectors and screens from any audio/visual rental store for a
reasonable fee.
OmahaBrides.com: Are you saying this is a “do it yourself” project?
Amy: For many people it is.
OmahaBrides.com: That being the case, why would someone want to pay to hire your services to do this for them?
Amy: The biggest reason is because it takes a huge burden off of their shoulders. Putting together scrapbooks can be time consuming and if you have never done one before there is a
learning curve. In addition we have the software to produce a stunning presentation with various fades, swipes, and picture motion.
OmahaBrides.com: How long is a typical scrapbook presentation?
Amy: It depends on several factors including how many pictures are being used, and the length of time pictures are displayed before going to the next. I always recommend no more that
70 pictures. This will give you about a 10 to 12 minute presentation, which is plenty. You don’t want your scrapbook to be too long.
OmahaBrides.com: That was going to be my next question. How long is too long?
Amy: Guests will start to lose interest after about 12 to 15 minutes. Guests losing interest is something you definitely want to avoid.
OmahaBrides.com: In addition to putting together the scrapbooks do you offer any other service?
Amy: Yes, we also rent all the necessary equipment to show your scrapbook including projectors, screen, media players, and sound systems.
